After what happened to the US release, I certainly won't be getting this 'til someone confirms the subtitles are alright! They should be really as they reissued the R1, but you can never be too careful...

Well, that cover really conveys the beauty, pace and artistry of the film, doesn't it? I hope they get the subtitles right because I still haven't found a US release with 'Theatrical English Subtitles' despite their promises....

Did they re-issue the US Blu-Ray to include theatrical subs? Or just the R1 DVD?

After the controversy surrounding the subtitles on the U.S. release on this side of the pond, I share all of your sentiments.

I picked up the Swedish Blu-ray last month, which has the correct subtitles and a very nice cover which doesn't look like it was created by a 14 year old using Photoshop.

The swedish version has no loss less sound however (only DD 5.1, DTS 5.1), strange because the film got an swedish award for sound. The US version has DTS MA (swedish) but bad subtitles, let's hope the UK version get i right with loss less and theatrical subtitles (alas the cover look particulary crappy).

I've checked the DVD release and can confirm it uses the original translation as seen on the theatrical release.

That's good news. All we need now is lossless audio on the BD & we're laughing.

Having got my hands on a Blu-ray checkdisc (at last), here's the specs you've been after...

AVC 2.35:1 1080p encode
Dolby Digital 5.1 & DTS 5.1 Swedish language soundtracks (no lossless audio, sorry)
English subtitles (having compared it to the original US BD, the UK disc definitely has the 'original theatrical subtitles')
Animated Picture Gallery (3mins / 1080i)
Director's Comments - English language commentary track from the writer and director
UK Trailer (1min / 480p)
Deleted Scenes x4 (6mins / 1080p)

So that means I'm still holding out for a disc with all of the extras and lossless audio. Grr...
