MGM and Fox Home Entertainment have announced the UK Blu-ray Disc release of Raging Bull on 9th February 2009 priced at £19.99 RRP. Robert DeNiro stars in director Martin Scorsese’s film that recounts the gritty and emotionally unsettling career and personal life of tenacious boxer Jake LaMotta.

Any chance this will be region free? I notice Fox are using it a lot less lately.

I appreciate that these articles are mostly cut 'n' pastes of press releases, and that most people couldn't care less about French subtitles, but for those of that need them (for European friends) it would be great to get the info of their inclusion (or not) out of studios...

For some reason, and contrary to most UK DVD releases, Blu-ray discs often seem to have foreign subtitles. Any ideas why?

jasonfist: If the studio hold world distribution rights the same BDs are often distributed as such. For instance on several Sony and Warner titles relased in the States you can find subtitles for about every country in the world.

Plenty of UK DVDs have non-English subs. It's about equal.

Agreed it would be nice to know such information, what the audio spec is too. Dave can only paste what he's given though.
